PHOENIX BASKETBALL CLUB - FAQs
Where does Phoenix BC play it’s basketball.
Phoenix BC’s main home court is at our three court facility at Lisburn Racquets Club.
However we also operate in Carryduff (at Lough Moss Leisure Centre) and in south Belfast (at Methodist College and at the Newforge Complex).
2. My child wants to try basketball but has not played before or has limited experience of playing. Can he/she join Phoenix BC?
Absolutely!
Phoenix BC runs a hugely popular Phoenix Academy.
The Academy works on a term by term basis between September and June. The sessions are one-hour long and are held weekly throughout the academic year.
Currently we have nine different sessions - playing out of Lisburn Racquets Club, Methodist College Belfast and Lough Moss Leisure Centre in Carryduff.
Fees are paid for the full term rather than for individual sessions. These sessions work out at approx. £5 per session.
See the ‘Phoenix Academy' section on this website for details of the various sessions and the links to register.

4. Can my child join Phoenix BC and play competitive basketball? When are there trials for the competitive squads?
The pathway for children joining our club is primarily via joining the Phoenix Academy.
If boys/girls join the Academy and are then deemed to have reached the standard of play required to play for a competitive squad - the Academy coaches will liaise with the competitive squad coaches - to enable a trial with the appropriate competitive squad.
In addition - we do hold open trials prior to each season. These provide an open avenue for junior players to impress our coaches in advance of squad selection for the following season’s teams.
5. How much are the fees to train and play in a competitive squad?
In the 2024-25 season the annual fee was £220 (£240 if paid in three equal instalments over three months).
